Singapore’s BandLab acquires DIY artist services platform ReverbNation

Music making platform BandLab has acquired ReverbNation from parent company, eMinor, Inc. The deal is effective immediately.

Hmmm, I wonder what this is going to mean for the many thousands of musicians on ReverbNation.

Maybe BandLab will stop all of the annoying pay-to-play spammy adverts that ReverbNation inflicted on its subscribers.

TikTok Reaches 1 Billion Global Users

Video sharing phenomenon TikTok has hit a global milestone. Its chief operating officer Vanessa Pappas announced on September 27: “Our global TikTok community is now more than 1 billion people strong.

“That means that over 1 billion people around the world now come to TikTok every month to be entertained as they learn, laugh, or discover something new, like sports, music, arts and culture, fashion, DIY and more.

“That’s a billion people every month watching and sharing each others’ creativity. So on behalf of the TikTok team, I want to say thank you.”

That’s 1 BILLION… With impressive stats like that, I’ve got to start taking TikTok more seriously for music promotion.

TikTok Pinned Posts = Perfect For Music Promotion

According to RouteNote, rising social media giant TikTok is really gearing themselves up to be a major player in online music promotion. This is because…

Rumour has it that TikTok is testing a helpful pinned videos feature. It could be a great way for musicians on TikTok to promote new releases.

TikTok is currently testing out a feature that lets users pin up to three videos at the top of their profile.

The feature is something the video platform has been exploring for a while, but recent activity suggests it will become a permanent fixture on the app.

If this news doesn’t get you at least checking out TikTok’s potential as a music marketing tool then nothing will. Interesting!
